On 07.12.2014 at around 7.00 pm, two contractors, workers namely Shri Shyamapada Bauri, aged about 40 years and Shri Sanyasi Gope, aged about 30 years were found unconscious near Coal Dust Injection distribution unit of Blast Furnace No. 3 of Durgapur Steel Plant. They were immediately rushed to DSP Main Hospital for necessary treatment. The area, where they were found unconscious was immediately cordoned off and checked for any abnormality. No apparent abnormality was found in the area. The senior officials of DSP also visited the site immediately. A high power committee has been constituted to investigate the probable reasons for the sudden unconsciousness of the contractors workers at the site. In the mean time, in spite of the best of the medical treatments, both the contractors, workers died at around 10.00 pm at DSP Main Hospital. DSP is making all efforts to find out the real reason for the incident.
