Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL) was awarded by Governance Now in the Turnaround (Financial) category at the 5th edition of the Governance Now awards in a glittering ceremony in New Delhi yesterday. Chairman, SAIL Shri PK Singh received the award from Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Smt. Krishna Raj and Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Shipping and Chemicals and Fertilizers, ShriMansukh L Mandaviya. SAIL turned into profits after a gap of ten quarters during the Q3 of this financial year.
SAIL is in the final leg of completing its modernization and expansion program which will not only enhance the steel making capacity of the Company but will also strengthen the product basket of the company with more value added products planned as per market requirements. The Company has already embarked on a competitive marketing strategy to capture the market for its new products.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman, SAIL Shri PK Singh said, "I am of the firm belief that big Challenges offer great opportunities and if the determination to succeed is strong enough, nothing is impossible".
