New Delhi, 03rd July, 2024: As part of the Van Mahotsav 2024, saplings were planted at Steel Authority of India Limited’s (SAIL’s) Corporate Office at Lodi Road on 3rd July 2024. This plantation is part of the company's commitment towards sustainability and greener steel making. Saplings were planted by Shri Amarendu Prakash, Chairman, SAIL & Shri VS Chakravarthy, Director (Commercial), Shri AK Tulsiani, Director (Finance), Shri KK Singh, Director (Personnel) and Shri SN Gupta, CVO, SAIL. Senior officials and employees also joined in the event.
Van Mahotsav, the country's annual tree plantation festival celebrated from July 01 to July 07, is aimed at urging citizens to join hands in planting trees for a greener planet. Earlier on World Environment Day, this year, Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched ‘Ek Ped Maa ke Naam’ campaign strengthening India’s quest towards sustainable development. SAIL is a responsible steelmaker which is committed to march towards the new era of carbon neutrality and these steps are a true reflection of the same.
